TRIP TO PARIS, PARTICIPATION TO INFOFEST AND DIGITAL CAMERAS FOR THE BEST

Trip to Paris and visit to Disneyland are gifted by Telecom Montenegro. Ministry of Information Society awarded students with participation at the largest IT event in the region, and the Ministry of Education and Science with digital cameras. The selection of the best school presentations - joint project of the Government and Telecom Montenegro.
Podgorica, June 15 the winners of the national competition of primary and secondary schools for the best site (the Internet presentation) are school pupils of primary school Ratko Žarić from Nikšić (in the primary school competition) and Braća Selić from Kolašin competition of high schools. Both teams together with their mentors have received award for 5-days arrangement in Paris, which includes a visit to Disneyland, then participation at this year INFOFEST - the largest IT event in the region, as well as digital cameras with memory card, was said at the ceremony of winner promulgation and rewarding.
Trip to Paris is awarded by Montenegrin Telecom, the presence at INFOFEST by Ministry of Information Society, while the digital cameras are gifted by the Ministry of Education and Science. In June, in awarded schools, Ministry of Information Society will also installed a so-called info newspaper kiosk, which all pupils will be able to use leisure services offered by this modern technological solution.
The selection of the best school presentation is organized into a partnership project of Telecom Montenegro and the Government of Montenegro, whose aim is to increase the level of IT knowledge.
Congratulated to winners, Vice President of the Montenegrin Government and the Minister of Information Society, Vujica Lazović PhD, is reminded that the state pays a great importance to development of modern technologies, and it was also a priority few years ago.
- Your results show that Montenegro does not slow with the informatics development for other countries. Even more, in our plan and Strategy for Information Society Development we are planning to be a leader due 2012. in the development of information technologies in relation to other countries in the region. For that we have a lot of good assumptions. At the same time, our intention is that informatics business be noticeable items in the structure of gross domestic product also in 2012, said Lazović.
Lazović said that we will though the series of new and improvement of existing study programs provides young people with studying of elite and quality informatics studies.

- Without informatics literacy today is impossible to imagine a successful man and it is the request at our each step, said Minister of Education and Science, Sreten Škuletić PhD.

He thanked all the participants in this event, stated that "a different, modern and widely accessible forms of communication is something for which we striving, and supporting in the education system in Montenegro."

Škuletić thanked to the Ministry of Information Society and Montenegrin Telecom, which are, together with the Ministry of Education and Science, initiated and allowed the realization of this significant competition, which, as said, students and teachers have animated to demonstrate their knowledge and innovation.
- All this is possible through new teaching cases, the constant improvement of equipment in schools, teachers training to which we are dedicated and in what we have in the last few years, invested over five millions, said minister Škuletić.
Minister of Education presented the digital cameras to the best while the diplomas presented by Vice President of the Government and Minister of Information Society and the President of the Board of Directors of Telecom Montenegro, Daniel Szasz.

WINNERS

Awarded teams have five members and one coordinator. The primary school team "Ratko Žarić" has members: Anđela Grbović, Anja Glušica, Sanja Popović, Božidar Kisić and Maja Doderović, while the coordinator was a professor Julka Rašković.

In the name of the school "Braća Selić" members are: Sonja Vuksanović, Rajko Radović, Ana Zeković, Marija Jovanović and Jelena Popović. Professor and coordinator was Goran Živković.

The event, in the words of jury vice-president Maja Ilijanić, attended 94 primary and 37 secondary schools. The project was started in mid-October last year, and during its life was organized 41 Internet workshops in all Montenegrin municipalities.

TELECOM IS READY TO INVEST MORE MONEY

Telecom Montenegro is ready that in the next four years, only in the project of increasing the level of Internet usage make a million euros, announced today the President of the Board of Directors of Telecom Montenegro, Daniel Szasz.

- Since the fall will be organized computer courses for senior citizens. We want to encourage all those who are looking for knowledge and research to use fast Internet without fear and restrictions, said Szasz.

He reminded that the project to increase Internet penetration is only one of the projects that Montenegrin Telecom initiated in order to increase information literacy.
