Brussels: Legislation in the area of Information Society and Media presented

Two-day meeting of bilateral analytical overview for Chapter 10 – Information Society and Media, at which Montenegrin regulation in this area was presented, ended today in Brussels.
The meeting was closed by Ms Ružica Mišković from Ministry of Information Society and Telecommunications, head of the work group. She confirmed Montenegrin dedication to the process of European integration and defining further steps in the area of Information Society and media. She pointed out the significance of the development through strengthening of administrative capacities and full implementation of current activities, in accordance with adopted development strategies, with special regard to legislation, aimed at full harmonization with the EU acquis.
Members of the work group have presented Montenegrin legislation that covers electronic communications, Information Society services and audiovisual policies, through 22 presentations.
Along with existing capacities for efficient implementation of the regulation in all of the areas concerned, plans towards further harmonization with EU legislation and standards from this Chapter have also been presented. European Commission representatives welcomed preparedness of Montenegro regarding scope and quality of the presentations, as well as cooperation, communication and exchange of the information during the preparations for the meeting and the meeting itself.
